Annual Mass of St. Patrick at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica

His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop Emeritus of Toronto, presided at the annual Mass of Saint Patrick on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica, where he warmly welcomed members of the Irish community from across Toronto.

Cardinal Collins invited the faithful to look to Saint Patrick as a great shepherd and powerful intercessor as we live our life in today’s world. His

life calls us to courage, generosity, and a deep spiritual immersion in the life of God. Cardinal Collins encouraged us to read The Confession of Saint Patrick noting that “Throughout his writings he shows profound awareness of the blessed trinity and profound immersion in the word of God”.

We are reminded that we are called to live with courage, to give generously, and to offer ourselves completely in service to others, just as Saint Patrick did.

Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
